"I bought these hats because they were very cute. I didn't read the fine print and that's my fault, but they do not come assembled. You have to assemble them yourselves. The strings are very short and when you actually fold the hat around, it doesn't quite take the "hat" form shape. The notches don't line up to fit together very well without constantly popping out. I was kind of disappointed in that and the kids just ended up using the back to color on. :/"
